So let’s just say that your Grandparent’s favorite movie is Casablanca. Classic, right? What if you told them that your favorite artist was Casablancas? They would probably have a Stroke (figurative language here my friends; I love your Grandparents, as should you. I wish them no harm).
Long story short - they probably don’t understand our language, or as Julian Casablancas might put it, our Phrazes for the Young. Check out this awesome new track from the Strokes frontman and enjoy. It’s called “11th Dimension,” and it’s off his forthcoming album, Phrazes for the Young.
Apparently some of the focus on this album is dedicated to drawing inspiration from a diverse set of musical influences, across various time periods. You can hear it on this track. Oh, and check out the album cover and it’s cryptic images. I see The RCA logo (Dog & Phonograph) and a Guitar Hero-esque guitar. Casablancas seems to be positioning himself between the old and the new - finding a fresh middle ground that appeals to our futuristic style and affinity for history.
